RWI Spelling

Once children in Years 4-8 are fluent readers (reading at 90-100 words per minute), they have completed the RWI Phonics scheme and move on to RWI Spelling.

These lessons are pacey, 20-minute sessions that teach spelling systematically with deliberate, focused practice. They build upon the teaching strategies and spelling activities from RWI Phonics. 

Termly assessment allows us to track progress through the scheme and ensure we have a clear picture of what each pupil needs next.
