World Book Day 2025 – A Celebration of Stories!

Combe Pafford School celebrated World Book Day with creativity, reading, and fun!
Combe Pafford School celebrated World Book Day on Thursday 6th March with a range of fantastic activities! The day began with a Whole School Assembly, where pupils and staff proudly showcased their creative fancy dress costumes, and took part in various reading games and challenges. It was also great to hear our pupils read aloud as part of the 'Masked Reader', sharing what they enjoy most about their interesting books with the whole school.
Throughout the day, pupils took part in a Lanyard Character Hunt Challenge, recognising book characters chosen by adults around the school. Classrooms were transformed with the Door Decoration Competition, as each class designed their doors based on a non-fiction book.

At lunchtime, Years 4–10 enjoyed a delicious Hungry Caterpillar buffet, featuring fruit kebabs and a variety of cakes, inspired by the classic story.
We were also lucky to enjoy a special visit to the library, where students met a local author, gaining inspiration for their own storytelling adventures. Some pupils also had the exciting opportunity to visit Trago Mills for an engaging storytelling workshop, taking part in drama activities and creating their own stories.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part—World Book Day was a truly magical celebration of reading at CPS!
