Employability
Welcome to the Employability Curriculum Overview 2024-2025
In a rapidly changing job market, equipping yourself with the right skills and knowledge is more crucial than ever. Our Employability Curriculum is strategically designed for the 2024-2025 academic year to empower students with the essential tools for success in the workforce. Throughout the year, learners will engage in a dynamic blend of theoretical and practical learning, covering a wide range of topics from job search techniques and application skills to understanding workplace etiquette and the importance of personal development. Whether you're exploring local job opportunities or navigating the complexities of remote interviews, our curriculum provides the foundational understanding needed to thrive in today’s competitive environment.
The journey begins in the Autumn Term, where students will delve into the core concepts of employability and self-assessment. They will explore what it means to be employable, the importance of soft skills, and the value of personal attributes in the workplace. As they progress, they'll gain insights into the evolving job market, including the skills employers are seeking and the various types of contracts available. This hands-on exploration not only prepares students for the job application process but also fosters an understanding of British values and character development through collaborative activities and discussions about personal values. As we move through the curriculum, students will build confidence and competence, setting them on a path toward successful and fulfilling careers.
