What is the Super Curriculum?

Super Curriculum activities help you learn more about your subjects outside the classroom. These activities build on what your teacher has taught in school and allow you to explore topics in more detail on your own. You can find different activities suggested by your teachers on this webpage to challenge yourself and learn more.

Why are Super Curriculum activities important?

Helps with learning: Doing Super Curriculum activities can help you understand and remember knowledge better. It can also improve your skills.
Shows your commitment: If you regularly do these activities and share what you've learnt, it shows that you are serious about improving in your subject.
Improves your grades: Just spending one extra hour a week on Super Curriculum activities can help you improve your progress in school.

ENGAGE:

When you read, watch, or listen to something, try to understand what is being said and the message being shared. Look for at least one new piece of information, a different viewpoint, or an idea you've never heard before. It's okay if you don't understand everything at first, especially if it's a new topic for you.

REFLECT:

After you read or watch something, try to explain the main ideas in your own words. If you can't, go back and check it again. Then, think about what you read or watched by asking yourself:

What do you think about it?
What has been learnt?
Was the information easy to understand?
Do you agree with what was said?
Why or why not?

This helps you think more carefully about what you learnt.

After learning something new and forming your own opinion, you can use your new knowledge. You can write about it, talk about it in lessons, or include it in your written responses in class. Share your ideas with friends and teachers, and look for other sources to see if your thoughts or opinions might change.
